Is there a concept of word that refers to both written and ponounced words in langages that use ideograms for writing, as in alphabetic langages?

Well, I did not found the complete and exact answer yet. Somehow, Let me tell what I've started with.
I took a look at the Japanese (as, thanks to anime and great economic conditions in Nippon, it is learned by many people and thus there are numerous sources of simply understandable information on it) and on http://www.freedict.com/onldict/onldict.php
I found the following: the Japanese for the English "word" is "go" or "tango" or "wa-do" or "wa-rudo" or "dengon".
Now, "wa-do", "wa-rudo" and "go" are translated to English simply as "word", and that is not enough precise for us. On the other hand, the same doctionary gives "word, verbal message" as the translation of "dengon" to English; for "tango" it gives "word, vocabulary, single-character word".
At least now we are sure there are different concepts for written words and pronounced words in Japanese.

Thank you.
Could you please tell if this imported from English to Japanese word can mean any word of Japanese in any form (ideogram/phonetical writing/pronounced word)?

They have the same meaning to the word "word" seems like we don't have a single japanese word for "word" as we have in english and languages derived from latin.
I don't know about chinese.

Not that I know, my japanese is very basic and my vocabulary is small.
Also, such basic word as "word" wouldn't have been imported if they already had a word for it.
