I think that I should make more boards to increase our population.

I was thinking in:
A Humanities board (literature, history, philosophy)
A steampunk/cyberpunk board
A Junk science board (for not so serious stuff) (maybe make it non-worksafe?)

If we make too many boards we will end with with a lot of boards and only one user in each one with no one to interact, we need to make enough boards to attract more users but don't make too much boards too

Not everthing in this site is science, steampunk is cool but seems more like art than science.

This site is about science, geeks and nerds.
Steampunks/cyberpunks are geek and/or nerds subspecies.
The same way otaku is the japanese word for nerd (or at least very close) and in western culture otaku is a anime nerd.

Since this is a science/geek/nerd imageboard we could encourage scifi anime in this board like lain, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Nadia and the Secrets of Blue Water, but not fobid other animes since a otaku is a nerd too.

btw. is it possible to have the math equations integrated onto this board? Gives the math nerds a way to express their formulas properly.

I think the boards are working well as is, but Otaku is a bit of a ghost town. I'd think to maybe try to broaden it up a bit with nerdy Japanese merch/robots (real&|Mech)/and perhaps even those electronic little Tamagotchis. If it still remains unpopular and lifeless I suggest you cut it out alltogether, but if it picks up some steam in time, merging is a good idea. It'd generally be the same thing but with some anime and Japanese-emphasized electronics/gadgets and plushies/game show clips thrown in, anyway.

Edit: Tamagotchi not Tomogotchi.

I think that /geek/ will incorporate /otaku/ soon after all otaku is just a Japan geek... (All otaku stuff will be posted on Geek)
/geek/ will be for Gadgets, Steampunk, Cyberpunk and other fun stuff...
Fun science will be back to /sci/ even if that is simple and funny it is still science...

I think that /geek/sci/ssh/ is enought for all the material posted here, what do you people think?

any chance that /sci/ could be split into /phy/ /che/ and /bio/?
lets users be more area specific, therefore making it a more enjoyable experience..
i reckon that's probably something you would look into when the site grows in population but that should happen at some point.

I will keep a /sci/ board for general science even if we get /phy/ /che/ /bio/ and /math/ but depending of the number of biology/physics/chemistry/math posts I will make new boards for them (some sooner some latter depending of users posts)

If you want /bio/ make a lot of posts about biology and bring people interested in it.
